Anyone shed some light of replacing these or a possible old thread on this ?

Thanks

Is there two variations of cylinder ?

From those photos is it possible to say which version of cylinder I have ?

Yes. 2 major versions to be exact and a few minor versions of these 2 major versions

Has anyone rebuilt their power steering cylinder.
Yes - I, since 3 years many times many such steering cylinders.... ;)
I believe my own is leaking out at the head #9
No - at this point it comes out, but its leaking at other place. Often at the litle AL-ring or at the rubber ring pos. 29.
But if you open it, you have to reset it again... otherwise it won't work again.

Is there a way if telling which I have?

Is this porcess detailed on your 5011 rebuild or perhaps somewhere else?

Yes I thought that alright. Are specialised tools required to reseal the cylinder.

Is the "reset" process a difficult job ?

Thanks

Can you tell which I have from photos and which parts diagram that relates to ?

Any photos on this forum of the process ?

Reset ? Difficult to do ?

Thanks again.

Take a look at your parts book pictures, its the Jihostroj version - if older or younger I can only say when I see it unmount from the tractor.

At the workshop book from Zetor but not completly and at this time not here at the forum, as I havn't enough time to wrote such a ressource entry.

Yes, but no complicated and easy to made them byself.
When you made it first time it needs some houres when you made it right. Demont, cleaning, look for problems, mount back, reset them, mount back at the tractor, let the air out at oil, kalibrate the power steering cylinder new ... And always think at one thing - safty first, powersteering will be relevant for your and other peopels safety. :)

And from both versions it gives newer and older ones with realy only little changes. The working principies are allways the same.

Sure - please use the forum search... I think so. Again I dont have at the moment the time to write a HowTo for this. But I think about to make a Video next time as a HowTo for both versions... Think that will be a project for the summer with more time for. :denk

No, when you do the job accurate and have a little bit finger feeling - its no big problem.

Ok I will examine the parts book. Could you detail a couple of the differences as to a novice, it is not so clear . Just don't want to be working from the wrong picture or ordering wrong parts :bibber

Would be a great resource:like

Thanks for the help.

Its not to hard - take a look at the parts book, the pictures and the parts numbers - you can then find all the differences betwen both power steering cylinders.

The biggest difference will be this parts:

I have had the ram resealed by a hydraulic shop. I have reinstalled on tractor.

How do I go about setting the ram. It is easier to turn one way than the other.

Thanks

What says the hydraulic shop?
When they rework this cylinder, then they should be able to give you answers to your question. Have you asked them?

What exactly information do you need? Or what exactly is now the problem? Can you better explain that?

And... there is a lexic entry here, what explain how to reinstall this cylinder and how tho newly ajust it.
Do you read it and this doesnt helps you?

I haven't talked to them yet, have to collect antoher item today so will speak to them then.

Just wondering how to set the ram. It is easier to turn to the right but when turning back to the left it is harder and stiffer.

Where can I find this resource ?

Thanks

This can have more then one reasons:
  • power steering cylinder wrong reworked/remounted from hydraulic shop.
Know them the rework settings to remount it properly?
    - espacialy the adjust the inner spring to adjust the steering
  • to many grease at the cylinder rear end, that can block them and reduce the way the cylinder can work
You have to check the installation settings at the front end of the cylinder (Zetor 6211: 60 +/- 2mm) and the short other one at the rear end betwen cylinder and gearbox (Zetor 6211: 285,5 +/- 1mm).

Its not to hard to do, if you know what you do - but all this your hydraulic shop should tell you also if you ask them. :)

Perhaps that could be it .

This is a photo from before it was removed for repair. Too much grease at the right side ( back rear end ) ?

Could you detail more on this please ? Not full sure how to do this.

Thanks Joachim

Also I found the resource on the power steering adjustment, in there in mentions bleeding it. How is this achieved ? Thanks

to much grease (red arrow) or ...
wrong remounted spring / wrong spring settings inner the cylinder pipe.
The last one (spring settings) is to setup when the cylinder parts be remounted - this should do the hydraulic shop if she knows whats they do at such cylinders.

This should be th job of the hydraulics shop ... ;) Otherwise they work blind and dont know what they do at such cylinders. ;)

a = 58 - 62 mm (Zetor 6211)
b = 284,5 - 286,5 mm (Zetor 6211)

I hope you know how you remove the air from power seering hydraulic system... and then, to fine adjust if the steering runs out of the middel to the right or left side:
First locker the chrome pipe, then:
right = screw the cylinder pipe (chrom) to left (down wards)
left = screw the cylinder pipe (Chrom) to right (up wards)
